Photorejuvenation - Pigmentation – Vascular Treatment Information

What does it do?

How it works for Hyperpigmentation

The absorption of light converts into heat energy, which raises the temperature of the target and with the right settings the temperature will be high enough to alter and damage the melanin (the target color) resulting in elimination.

How it works For Rosacea , blood vessels and broken capillaries

The light converts into heat energy which raises the temperature of the blood with the vessels and with the right settings, the temperature of the blood will be high enough to alter and damage the vessel wall resulting in elimination of the vessel.

How it feels

Is tolerated well by almost everyone. During treatment you experience a feeling similar to a warm snap from a rubber band. After each pulse you should feel a mild tingling. Mild sunburn sensation and tenderness is normal and subsides within hours. You should also see some darkening of the pigmented lesion, which is a positive sign and lightens and flakes over a week.

Protocol (treatments vary from individual)

Typically 3-6 treatments every 3 weeks

Bonus in having a photofacial

Hyperpigmentation

The most annoying skin problem reported by baby boomers is brown spots caused by sun damage on all areas of the body, with the most popular areas being the face, neck, décolleté, back of the hands, arms and legs.

This is gold standard procedure to address this concern. The photo thermal energy will gently target and heat up unwanted melanin responsible for the pigmentation. The area will either darken and flake off or fade.

How many treatments will I need?

Although results can be seen in as little as one treatment, 3-6 treatments, depending on severity of sun damage, are recommended.

How long does this treatment take?

A full face usually takes 45 minutes. Hands can be done in as little as 15 minutes.
